The Little Things

The past few weeks have brought forth many challenging circumstances for myself and my family, several of which I never would have guessed I'd have to face. Although it's been a rocky few weeks, I am beginning to feel tremendous gratitude in now being able to recognize an incredible sense of awakening through these experiences-and even more imporatntly- a fair amount of positive growth.

Life is so short, and so full of such amazing potential. I can honestly say that through these challenges I've also gained a new sense of appreciation for life and all that I value. And for this I am incredibly grateful!

This week Juliana and I spent some time prepping the garden and planting lots of seeds-we did it even when I didn't have the motivation, (nor the desire to be honest!). I just knew I had to do it. The pure symbolism alone was enough to prompt me...when all else fails, find inspiration in new growth...So far, so good...

Restaurant Agliata

I was deemed a restaurant owner by the kiddos this morning as they sat down at the finest table in what they called "Restaurant Agliata."

Juliana to Nate: "Isn't my mom the best restaurant lady in the whole world?"

Nate to Juliana: "Yes she is! Did you know that she used to be a REAL chef?!"

Gosh I wish I was able to remember my amazing past life as well as my kids can!

(by the way...I have never been, nor claimed to be any kind of chef whatsoever!)

Hello Spring!!!!

I have to admit that living in the South does have some incredible perks...oh, like 75+ degree weather at the end of February!!! Not so bad indeed!

Today Juliana and I took advantage of the beautiful weather and got to work on beginning our garden. We planted a few different kinds of lettuce, and did a bunch of weeding around the emerging strawberry plants. I am so looking forward to getting more planted and growing more of our own vegetables this spring and summer!
