Betcha you'd never see all of this going on at the same time anywhere else!
I am happy to say that the baby bird was once again accepted back into his nest and grew up to be a strong bird who eventually (and thankfully) left my hanging fern on his own accord.

cuter then words! i love babies on video :o) Way to go bird saving woman, glad his momma took him back, i was always worried if you touched them they would be rejected. Good to know otherwise (in an emergency of course)
Yes, we were worried about that too! But we did some quick research and apparently that is a myth! The baby bird is usually always welcome back to the nest and the mama loves him/her just the same! Each spring we get birds who nest in my ferns...it's fun to watch them do this but the end result (for me anyhow) is a huge pile of bird poop all inside of my fern and on the porch below!
A myth? really? that is so good to know. Kate you are a wealth of information! You really should write a book. Oh wait, you are!! hee hee, when can i buy it? what is it about? I love books so much, i hope my children will grow up to be "book worms" like their momma. Have a great night bird rescue lady.
Very cute. It reminds me so much of grandpa and how he used to save the bird and squirrels, feeding them milk with eyedroppers. Let us know how the bird fairs.
