Hello from crazy land!!! Things are starting to speed up as we progress closer and closer to Krista and Michael's wedding on Saturday... I feel a little loopy over all of the things I still have to do to get us packed and ready to go to Savannah for a few days. I feel bad about having to kennel the dogs for so long....
The craft fair this past weekend wasn't the grand success I had been hoping for, and although the weather faired pretty well for most of the time, it did down pour while I was packing up, not so much fun. I think the craft fair route will have to take a seat for now...on the upside, I have a had several orders for things lately, so maybe that outlet will be enough to keep the business afloat! Keep me in mind for baby shower gifts or art work or decor for your own children'rooms!!!! agliata.com/art
I am almost finished with my masters degree!!!! I can't even believe I am this close to being finished...what a long road it has been. I can't even wait to have that extra time to just hang out with Pete and the kids...I feel like I have been going a million miles an hour for the past two years. It will be so nice to just slow it down for a bit.
Apart from wanting to slow life down, we are really excited about speeding things up as we run in the Susan Koman Race for the Cure in Raleigh in a few weeks! We are doing it to honor my mother, a breast cancer survivor. I can't wait to do it!!!
Okay, I am off to try and pack, and clean the house while trying to entertain the kids at the same time! I'll post some pictures of the wedding as soon as I can!

Mother Nature Has Shown Her Compassion!
Hallelujah!!!!!!! There REALLY is a place here that has just now started accepting plastics to recycle. I just returned from dropping off things and I am ecstatic. Now, it is a good drive away and the place is a bit scary looking, but I don't care! They are allowing me to recycle!!!! I am going to draw up a fl yer to post around the neighborhood letting others know of my awesome discovery!
On a separate note, I am stressing out as I have the craft fair at the Vidalia Onion Festival this weekend and it looks like it may rain a bit.... I also have a giant presentation this coming Monday night and of course, Krista and Michael's wedding to prep for. I still have to buy shoe's for Nate, pray that the suit we ordered from E-bay arrives in time, make the ring bearer pillow, get his and my hair cut, write my maid of honor speech, and have my dress steamed...I know I am forgetting about a dozen other things. Oh and on top of that, Krista called in a panic this morning as the 10 day forecast is predicting a small chance of rain on the 3rd....Ugh....Any suggestions for convincing the bride that everything will be wonderful despite the chance of rain (yes, the photos and reception are planned for outside...)?

Happy Earth Day!
Happy Earth Day everyone! I hope you take a few extra minutes to reevaluate your energy use, recycle methods and awareness on the impact you are making on our planet. Enjoy telling everyone you know what today is and what it means to you!
I swear I am not bragging about my baby (okay, maybe I am...) but Juliana and I had a full fledged conversation this morning!!! When she woke up from her nap she asked for her blanket, and I repeated it back to make sure that was what she wanted, and she said, okay Mama, blankie. Then she asked for her baba (aka bottle) and I asked if she wanted milk or juice and she said juice mama... Then I told her we had to go and pick up Nate and she clapped her hands and said, yeah, Nate!
She is talking so much! Not to mention, she now sings the ABC song- the entire ABC song! I am so impressed! She may have to start kindergarten early!
What are the top ways you like to contribute? Any hints or suggestions for the rest of us on how we can help our planet better? Leave a comment!!!!

In Summer's Honor
Friday, April 18, 2008
I was contacted today about creating a little wooden painted sign to post in some one's garden. No problem, I said, what would you like on it? And then the story behind it unfolded...
There is a family here in town who recently lost their ten-year-old daughter to leukemia, her name was Summer. One of the last things she and her father did together before she went into the hospital was plant a garden full of daffodil bulbs. The bulbs were planted last fall and in the last few weeks an astonishing amount of daffodils have emerged. The woman who requested the sign is a neighbor of Summer's family and thought the garden needed a sign to declare it "Summer's Garden." I am so pleased to be able to participate in the honoring of such a brave little girl.
As a parent, I can't even fathom what it would be like to lose a child, but especially in these circumstances, when she suffered for two long years... The pain of her loss for them, must be unbelievable. But there is more, Summer also has a twin brother. I ask you to keep her family in your prayers as they begin the healing process of the loss of their daughter, but I also ask for you to say an extra prayer for the little boy who will grow up missing his other half.
Thanks, Kate

Just Like Daddy
Thursday, April 17, 2008
Well, just when I thought my son--the one who often sits at the kitchen table staring hopelessly out the window, dreaming of Lord only knows what while his grilled cheese becomes icy--was going to turn out like his mom--the queen of daydreaming--here we discover maybe he's more like his dad after all! This is Nate trying desperately yesterday to "turn on" and play music from his little (non electronic and also upside down) piano!
So maybe, just maybe, if we're lucky, he and his sister will get the best of both of our characteristics...and leave behind the few, but nonetheless present, lagging qualities that have hindered his mom and dad's abilities over the years....wouldn't that be great?
Despite missing Pete and the fact that we have no hot water (yes good timing for our four-year-old water heater to burst into flames) we are holding up the fort okay. I thank God for good neighbors and even better friends who come by at 8:30 pm to reveal hazards in the water tank and close the attic ladder (which I have discovered I am too short--yes me-- to reach up and close). Come home soon Pete!!!!

Juliana's lungs are in good condition!
Tuesday, April 16, 2008
Ugh....shot day at the Agliata house! Poor Jules had to have her one year shots this morning and I am guessing that the people in the adjacent rooms must have thought the nurse and I were torturing this poor baby! There was no mistaking the health of Juliana's great set of lungs today! Funny how the babies are typically more upset by the nurse having to restrain their legs then they are of the actual shots! Oh and by the way, we've got another tall one in the family- Jules is among only 10% of babies her age in height! How about that!
Nate misses his dad, and keeps asking if he can go up in the airplane to see him...(we told Nate that Pete was traveling away for a few days and was going on an airplane)!
Well, we may stay around here after all....I have just been informed that there is now a recycling center in the area that accepts plastics! Hallelujah!!! Between that and the fact that the grocer now carries Goat Brie cheese, things may be looking better for Dublin!

Hello! Okay, this is my first entry! My aim is to write, share what is going on with us, and try and capture some of life's entertaining and intriguing moments! I hope you'll check back often to see what is going on with us.Today:After Pete took Nate out to mow the lawn via the John Deere Ride On Mower (that Nate refers to as the "Tractor") Juliana woke up from her nap, looked out the window and saw them. A few minutes later, she had found her shoes and brought them to me saying, "Dada, tractor!" She was asking me to take her out for a ride with daddy on the tractor...I was so surprised!!!Pete leaves for a week in Utah tomorrow....Mom's on double duty...keep me in your prayers...!

Testing!
Hi friends, I am trying this out for the first time and am hoping to get at least a few of you to respond back to me, so that I know that it's working!
If so, I look forward to sharing more with you through this method!
Thanks, Kate
